How to acknowledge NSF support

imagesNSF deserves to be acknowledged when they have funded your research. Perhaps unlike other organizations, they are very particular as to how to do it. If it is a paper, they want you to say exactly this in the acknowledgements: “This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under grant no. DEB-1212345,” or whatever the number was. At least that is what I could find. It isn’t all so easy to find this exact wording.images-2

If the journal won’t allow specific grant numbers to be given, follow the journal. But don’t forget to list all the papers that have appeared from the funded work when you write the annual and final reports.

images-1For posters, NSF likes for you to use one of their logos. They have a number that you can use. Let the world know what great work NSF funded!
